Kaka at Rovers?

There has a lot in the papers about a proposed friendly at Tallaght Stadium, home of Shamrock Rovers and the mighty Real Madrid. While Rovers have remained tight lipped, the details have been arranged apparently.

Although there is only a capacity of 3,300 people at the stadium, there are plans to put in temporary seating either sides of the goals bringing the capacity to 10,000. The other stand won't be ready in time for this great occasion.

All though is not as it appears. Spanish sports companies have offered to send either Barcelona or Real Madrid over to play friendlies against League of Ireland teams. Dundalk are even boasting about their coup. The fee is in the region of €30,000, all expenses included. They don't believe that it will be a team of superstars, perhaps one or two but I would gladly pay to see their second string anytime.

This promises to be a momentous occasion.
