Oxfam are organising a 5 a side Football Legends tournament at Coolock Astropark for Saturday 5th September. This promises to be the event of the year for 5 a side soccer players. It will feature the likes of Ray Parlour, Lee Sharpe, Jason McAteer and Phil Babb. More are to be confirmed at this stage. Details are still being worked out but there will be 36 teams and each one needs a deposit of €200 and has to raise a minimum of €1800. If sponsorship can be arranged, it is something not to be missed.
Dublin Indoor Sports host their own 5 a side soccer tournament at Coolock Astropark for Saturday 18th of July. This could be used as a warm up for the Football legends tournament as this will be a tough competition. Prizes for best teams, individuals and refreshments provided. There might be a barbecue depending on weather conditions. With no soccer on the television, what better way to enjoy the game but to enter these two upcoming competitions.
